Please note that school opening time is 8.50am. Parents and Guardians are responsible for their own children until school opens. Please know where your child is and if you are unsure if they have arrived to school on time call Audrey in the school office to confirm.

All children in the school will have an opportunity to go on their class tour before the end of the school year. Junior and Senior Infants will go to Pine Forest on June 22nd. 1st and 2nd classes will be in Fort Lucan on June 7th. 3rd class will go to Funtasia on June 18th. 4th classes will go to the zipline in Larch Hill on June 19th. 5th class will go to Tayto Park on June 27th. 6th Class will go to Carlingford Adventure Centre on June 25th and 26th. Please ensure that your child has sunscreen on these days in particular and that they have a good lunch to sustain them for the day.

Congratulations to our school teams who have represented the school so well this term. Our Chess team competed in the school league and won some of their matches. The chess club is run by chess teacher Dee Mowlds on Fridays at lunchtime in the IT room. Our girls soccer team, boys’ soccer team and school hurling team all reached the semi finals of their leagues and had some great days along the way. After School Sports is finished for this year. Sports day will be held, weather permitting, on Friday 15th June in Greentrees Park. Children come to school at the normal time and they will go with their class to the field. Junior Sports day will finish with a presentation of certificates at 12.40pm and Senior Sports Day will finish at 2.30pm. Parents and Guardians are very welcome to come to the field for the day to see their children take part. Bring a picnic and make a family day out of it.

Our new school Caretaker is Mr Christy Coleman. We are delighted to welcome Christy to the school and we look forward to him being an important member of our school community.

Children have made progress in Accelerated Reader programme throughout the year. Thanks to the fundraising efforts of our Parent Association we will purchase €1,000 of new books before the start of the coming school year. The Association also contributed €2,000 to cover the cost of school transport for children to school activities this term. Without the support of the Parent Association we would not be able to give the children many of the activities in which they  currently take part.

Important upcoming Dates:
