Fifth class enjoyed a fun-filled and action-packed overnight tour to Glendalough. With bags packed and excitement fever-pitch we made our way to Wicklow with a special Gardaí escort! When we got there, we were treated to lovely 99 cones and we went on an adventurous 12km hike by the lakes, through the miners village and on to the top of the Spinc. The sights were spectacular and we stopped for breaks and a tasty picnic! Local Gardaí Peter and Jamie accompanied us on the hike too which was cool. We guessed how many steps we had to descend coming down and Liam was the closest to the 685. He was really lucky as Mr O’Connor rewarded him with an ice-cream!
That evening we enjoyed our personalised dinners and we played rounders and football with Ms Miley and Mr O’Connor. Then we went back to the hostel for a DVD and some treats! It was like a big sleepover!
The next day we had our breakfasts and we had a special guided tour of the area. We headed back to Dublin and we stopped off for rolls and goodies in Centra. We then had a picnic in the park and played so more games. It was the best school tour! Thanks to Mr O’Connor for organising it! Thanks to Ms Miley and Gwen for bringing us too!
