6th Class in Collins Barracks.
May 7, 2012 · No Comments
6th Class went to visit the Collins Barracks Museum on April 27th with Ms. Cregg, Ms. McDonnell and Joanne. We journeyed on the Luas and on arrival we had time in the courtyard (some of us bought toast!) before our tour commenced.
We were visiting the 1916 exhibition as we had been working on this topic in class. The Class were split into two groups. One group were given the artefacts tour upstairs and the other were given the photography tour downstairs. Afterwards we had a chance to explore the interactive resources and most importantly – Dress up as 1916 soldiers! Enjoy the pictures!

We entered the Primary Science competition this year. We got good news today – we did a great job and helped the school get a plaque. We did a lot of experiments like making a volcano and floating and sinking.
Here’s some of our work.

School Sports News
May 2, 2012 · No Comments
Our school makes aspecial effort to ensure that every child who wants to represent the school gets the opportunity to do so. Our football teams are doing very well in the Dublin Leagues and both boys and girls teams are hoping to seal semi final places when they play their final league games in the second week of May. The Girls 5 a side team finished in second place in the Dublin finals after they were beaten in a penalty shoot out. The Boys team lost the semi final to eventual winners Clondalkin.
4th calss participated in a 6 week spikeball course and had the opportunity to play in an inter schools Blitz in St Paul’s last week. Our school basketball teams coached by Louise from the Oblate Dynamos are trainining every Wednesday after school for the tournaments at the end of May and the beginning of June.
We will be taking aboys and a girls team to Santry this year for the annual school athletics championships. The Boys competition is on the 31st May and the Girls is on June 7. Our school will be closed on May 31 so boys who are on the team will have to be sure that they are available to come with us on that day. If they are not available we need to know in order to offer their place to someone else.
Finally, our school sports day is provisionally scheduled for the 25th May…weather permitting!

Eleven of our young players from 2nd-4th class will represent the school in Croke Park on Tuesday 8th May in the Dublin Schools Go Games Tournament. This will be a great occasion for all the players and they are really looking forward to it.
